WELCOME
A solid record of accomplishments in four years!
-
Finances:
Stabilized city finances through the worst crisis since
the
depression. Reduced the size of city staff and
maintained services.
-
Emergency Services:
Fire Department is reorganizing to be more sustainable
and efficient; now volunteers are returning. The Police
Department achieved the distinction of being NYS
Certified and our streets are safer than most any other
city on the Hudson River. Saved hundreds of thousands of
dollars in motorized advanced life support with the help
of Beacon Volunteer Ambulance.
-
Historic Preservation:
Code enforcement saved historic factories from collapse
and are now being restored such as the four Roundhouse
buildings.
-
Open Government:
City management of channel 22 to deliver messages,
televised and on-line council meetings, public comments
at start of council meetings, town hall meetings,
information based city website.
I believe a mayor should lead and build a consensus around
ideas-
The result: council decisions that led to the following
building boom:
-
Development:
Roundhouse
by the falls is the largest commercial development in
years and will create jobs and tax revenue at a hotel,
restaurant, spa, catering hall, apartments, and

Hudson Baylor
recycle center will create jobs and tax revenue in the
first large new commercial construction in years; old

planned on the picturesque Fishkill Creek to replace
industrial ruins and extend
the Creek Trail;
Welcome Center
built by volunteers;
Clearwater
restored 1850’s farmhouse; Scenic Hudson restored
Long Dock;
Listened to the public and said
“no” to oversized TOD.
-
Infrastructure:
Repaved roads in every neighborhood including the busy
Fishkill/Teller Ave (rt52); beautified Main Street with
new sidewalks, trees and improved road surfaces.
-

Over the last four years, my administration has worked hard
to listen to your needs and give back to our community
I pledge to continue… property tax stability through smart
growth and conservative budgeting, promote a vibrant Main
Street, and provide full recreational access to our
