Councilman, I Have a Vision for Beacon
Keep Taxes
Low...
As your Mayor I will make Beacon affordable for our seniors
and hard working families. That means controlling the
budget, sharing municipal services, increasing tourism
revenue and holding the line on over development.
A Professionally
Managed City...
As your Mayor I will focus on a more professional city
government. That means a responsive city hall, to obtain NYS
Police Accreditation for our Officers, increase Volunteer
Fire Fighter enrollment, and professional training for the
dedicated volunteers on our city boards, commissions and
committees. My
administration will respect the public! It’s an attitude to respond to residents in a positive and
responsible manner. I understand that as a resident, you
cannot shop around for a city hall that will service you
better. To me that means my administration has a moral
obligation to give you the highest level of service
possible!
Implement
the Comprehensive Plan...
The benefit will be a high quality of life, and an
economically vibrant city. The key is to offer people
the opportunity to browse an exciting Main Street, hike Mt.
Beacon, walk the Fishkill Creek, enjoy the Hudson River,
stroll through our parks and attend our festivals. People
will want to visit, open businesses and live in Beacon!
And our city can offer a diversity of home styles resulting
from more dense zoning and affordable homes near the Main
Street corridor, then progressively less dense zoning
spreading out towards the city's boundaries. It is important we recognize this.
And that is why I attended every general meeting, every
neighborhood discussion meeting, every professional sector
meeting and every special city council meeting held by the
Comprehensive Planning Committee over the last eighteen
months.
We
are one great city, it's municipal
workers, volunteers and it's people!
Along with Beacon's long and proud history of hard working
families, we have suddenly become the home to many new
residents who appreciate all that is great about Beacon.
I know that together we can accomplish our goals, because more than
anything else, the one fact about us which stands as tall
and proud as our majestic mountain, is our spirit to
cooperate with each other for the greater
good of Beacon!
